2016 Renaissance Award Winners​

​The Roanoke Arts Council is pleased to announce the winners of this year's competitions which were awarded on Saturday, October 8 during "A Renaissance in Roanoke". 

​The Best in Show ribbon was presented to Elizabeth Wamsley.  Best in class ribbons were also awarded to artists in the Art Marketplace by judge Justin Johnson.  Winners were:  Robin Hawkins, painting; Joseph Pelka, ceramics; Susan Stewart, glass; Tammy Kratzer, fiber/fabric; Nate & Jeanie Skaggs, drawing; Jeremy Ashcraft, photography; Robin Satterthwaite, metal/mixed media; Larry Wiedman, sculpture; Bill Steffen, woodworking; and Carol Blumenberg, jewelry.

​The Plein Air paint-out winners were:  Terri Buchholz - 1st place, Jon Detweiler - 2nd place and John Kelty - 3rd place. 

​Justin Johnson of Saint Francis College was the judge.

The Roanoke Elementary Plein air paint-out winners were: 

5th grade - 1st place - Jocelyn Buzzard

                   2nd place - Gianna Kerby

                   3rd place - Amaya Smith

4th grade - 1st place - Chloe North

                  2nd place -  Bryce Taylor

                  3rd place - Luke Tallman

3rd grade - 1st place - Hannah Augspurger

                   2nd place - Hathe Landrum

                   3rd place - Kaylee Hanson
