Roanoke Arts Council invites applications to the 2012-2013 Roanoke Arts Council High School Art Scholarship. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize a graduating high school senior who has exhibited artistic excellence in visual arts and who plans to pursue further education in the visual arts. Applications will be accepted from high school seniors graduating in June 2013 who are currently attending public or private school in Indiana. Applicants must be Allen, Dekalb, Huntington, Grant, LaGrange, Miami, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells or Whitley County residents. The Roanoke Arts Council Scholarship will be paid directly to the student's selected school to assist with tuition.
The complete application must be received or postmarked no later than September 28, 2012. Applicants will be judged by a panel of professionals with a high level of expertise in college arts education and/or professional experience. Selection of a scholarship winner will be based on artistic excellence as demonstrated by the quality of the work samples and application submitted to the panel. Dedication and character will also be considered.
Scholarship winner will be announced Saturday, October 13, 2012 at A Renaissance in Roanoke. All scholarship finalists will have one original work exhibited in the Roanoke Arts Council High School Art Scholarship Exhibit October 13, 2012 in conjunction with A Renaissance in Roanoke.
